Before the discs leave the factory, we put them through a high-temperature heat treatment. It’s mainly for mountain regions and vehicles with a heavy body.
Once a disc has been heat-treated, it’s far less likely to warp or judder when it sees high heat again on the road. That’s a big improvement in stability.
We also rust-proof the areas of the disc that don’t touch the pad. That extends the service life. One thing though: compared with a plain disc, this adds 5 to 10 RMB per disc.
The main downside of this surface treatment is that the rust protection isn’t very strong. It suits dry-climate regions and vehicle models with high turnover. Kept away from moisture, it lasts 3 years.
